I am writing in support of the Greek proposal to address some of the most visible and pressing issues at Dartmouth today. The Greek system was undoubtedly one of the most meaningful aspects of my Dartmouth career, and the bonds that grew will continue my entire life. I built so many great relationships, not just in my own fraternity, but in many others as well. The Greek system is so much more than the hazing it is accused of, but an inclusive, welcoming environment that brings the college together and allowed me to meet people I would have normally had no contact with. I do believe there are areas that it can improve, but attacking the Greek system and those involved with it has gotten out of hand. Members have too often been villainized when most are positive influences on the Dartmouth community and bring a lot to the school. The Greek system is one of the things that makes Dartmouth unique, and destroying that system takes a lot away from Dartmouth and the Dartmouth experience.
